Kentucky Times

Any time you go from living in the shadow of Washington DC and from spending many years in
close -in  inner-suburbs -some of which are a bit too jarringly inner city like to a  central Kentucky Community of  just under 2500 people ---a new world is established for you!

Poles with signs advertising restaurants, hotels, stores and gasoline stations soaring high above the road. Perpetual yard sales. Individuals riding horses sometimes along the side of a small road or sometimes on the shoulder of a main highway. Quick to smile and say hello people are rather plentiful as is Walmart.

I also see a good bit of people struggling to make it- asking themselves - " What can I do to make things work better for myself- in contrast to the " What more will I ask you to do for me' THAT IS PREVALENT in the Lincolnia section of Fairfax County that I now reside in.

You are also likely to see reminders here of  the earliest days of  The US here. Boones borough  is just a short drive from here . The William Whitley House, The First Brick House built West of The Allegany Mountain is also very near by. People talk proudly about kinfolk here and I've heard history spoken of here as if it occurred last year!

Kentucky also claims to be the source of Country music and Renfro Valley, 5 miles from here, has The Kentucky Music Hall of Fame ,

I like it here overall. I do have doubts as to how well I'd fit in here. I am planning, at present, to move here in 7 months. I know that this will truly be an odyssey when I relocate to this area.
